History

In 2008, the Marathon Diamonds were created to support the growth of baseball and softball in Findlay.   There was a recreational gap in our community for the population of children and adults with special needs.  The expansion of the Diamonds in 2015/2016 included a Miracle Field and an Inclusive Playground.  Adding these facilities closed the gap and provides a destination for all to enjoy.   Findlay has created a sports complex for everyone.

In 2018, Findlay was the host for the 1st Annual National Miracle League All-Star Game.  Miracle League players from 25 states and Canada sent an All-Star to Findlay, Ohio.   Capital Improvements were part of this celebration:  A new 27 foot bleacher and a new All-Star Pavilion were added.  The inclusive playground was expanded by 2,000 square feet, with the addition of 3 new interactive play structures for younger children.

In 2022, we completed an expansion of the facility to add Shade structures over seating areas and the addition of a Zipline .   The inclusive playground was expanded by approximately 2,000 square feet, with the addition of a ZipLIne playground equipment and surface.   We also expanded the seating capacity by adding a new bleacher with a shade canopy and added a Shade canopy over our existing bleachers.   We expanded seating sections around the baseball field and new landscaping.

Miracle Field:  The Miracle Field of Findlay is a custom baseball field with a cushioned, rubberized surface that allows players with disabilities to experience the game of baseball.  It features wheelchair and walker accessible dugouts and a flat surface to eliminate any barriers to players with restricted mobility or who are visually impaired.

Inclusive Playground:  The playground was designed to welcome children of all abilities and their families.  It provides individuals who are physically, mentally or emotionally challenged the opportunity to enjoy a playground with sensory-stimulating activities, an extensive ramping system and many more features for family and friends to enjoy year round.  The inclusive playground is over 11,000 square feet of surface and has over 55 pieces of equipment.   A major benefit of the playground is that it helps build stronger families by breaking down obstacles along the way.
